The five artists in this exhibition - Sammy Harkham, Seosie Kim, Ron Rege Jr, Johnny Ryan, and Katie Skelly - each offer a different survival strategy. Their works are examples of how to go about metabolizing experience, how to find the shape of a feeling and box it in ink. Some use humor as a weapon, some use beauty as a shield. Some zoom in so close to human awkwardness you can't look away; others explode into formal experiments that mirror how fractured everything feels.
Graphite Memory Drawing Session
NOTE — after your purchase Tim (or someone from Face Guts) will reach out to schedule your sitting. In-person sittings will be at Face Guts in Los Angeles, CA. Online sittings can be on Zoom, FaceTime, WeChat or whatever. It's flexible.
Individual sessions work like this: Tim will meet with you for 20–40 minutes. The format is casual. Conversation and drawing. Tim usually makes 5–8 drawings in that amount of time. You can choose from those drawings. The minimum purchase is $500 per session.
Your session includes hand made packaging for the drawings. Each drawing will be signed and dated. Drawings will be available for pickup after in-person sessions, and will be shipped after online sessions.
